I dislike driving, especially in heavy traffic, but sometimes it is the only way to get from A to B as quickly as possible, via the shortest route. My habits have dictated that unless they’re trips to the city, and I have been too lazy to plan ahead and look at transit options to my location — especially if I go out late at night, because service and frequency are dismal, especially on weekends.
Usually I don’t catch the bus to this campus, but when I realised there are actually four different buses, all within a 500 metre walk of me, that come here? Thought it was about time I changed that habit! They should discourage parking, as currently it is only 15 cents per hour.
Above you can see just how ridiculous the traffic can be coming home from the city. I had an exam for my degree yesterday and had to be at the venue by 9.20 am. As it is on the other side of town and I would have had to change between bus routes, and I was panicking as to whether I would arrive on time, naturally I drove. I don’t feel so guilty driving my car, however, as I have mentioned before – only because it is so petrol efficient and has an absolute minimum consumption rate.
