Twenty-five million more children will go hungry by the middle of this century in the developing world. Still some people love to overeat, and some even live to eat.
When I started doing experiments with my diet, it was very challenging for me. I did many experiments over a period of months and it was very difficult for me to judge which one was working. It was because I switched from one to another so fast rather than making some gradual changes over a long period of time. Then I started logging my diet patterns and body reactions and it became easy to find some pattern and correct the diet accordingly.
Now it’s been three and a half years and I feel a great sense of well-being, some times a sense of euphoria. It wasn’t until last year that I realized that I had a lot more energy — physical and mental both. I also felt that there was a connection between dietary changes and increased creative output. You will have more output in less time and without feeling fatigue afterward.
Mostly I follow guidelines from 20 Ways to Enjoy More Fruits, Vegetables, Whole Grains and Dairy from American Dietetic Association (ADA), which also says
To get the most nutrition out of your calories, choose foods packed with vitamins, minerals, fiber and other nutrients—and lower in calories. Pick fruits, vegetables, whole grains and fat-free or low-fat dairy more often. Be aware of portion sizes. Even low-calorie foods can add up when portions are larger than you need.
I also follow this vegan food pyramid:
Recently I started incorporating raw seeds into my diet: a mixture of flax seeds, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds and sesame seeds. No doubt it’s the most tasteless thing I have ever tried, and currently I am struggling to find new ways to use these seeds I bought.
Just a few generations ago, people were producing most of their food, and now everybody is having Coke with fries. We have become so dependent on these big corporations to provide our food. I must say that you must trust yourself more than those marketers. A transition to sustainable and alternative development are very crucial to human well-being on this planet.
